AI love restoring health, and recreating smiles!
QWhat inspired and drew you to dentistry?
AAs a teenager I switched to a new dentist, and he involved me in my oral health for the first time in my life. He end up being my clinical instructor in dental school.
QWhat do you enjoy about the team?
AI am inspired by what everyone brings to the office every day in the way of passion, commitment, and care.
QWhat gets you up in the morning to go to work?
ASometimes my alarm clock, sometimes my children, but mostly I wake up and think about what is possible today.
QIn what ways do you bring wellness to your patient?
AAs the large majority of dental disease is silent, I like to diagnose issues early and facilitate a preventative plan to manage or hopefully recreate oral health.
QHow do your strengths fit in the greater picture of the team?
AMy addiction to continuing education translates to constantly improving care for our patients. My other strengths include working with others to improve outcomes.
QHow do you achieve wellness in your own life?
ARegular exercise, eating well, spending time with family, and of course, brushing and flossing.
QWhat are some activities you enjoy outside of work?
AAnything that take me outdoors – running the seawall, biking, hiking, skiing, snowboarding.
Dr. Joyce graduated in 1988 from the University of Manitoba Dental School. Upon graduation he had a brief military career which posted him to Africa where he was awarded the Chief of Defence Staff commendation for his humanitarian work at a local hospital. Dr. Joyce has passed hundreds of hours in continuing education, and most notably he is a graduate of the prestigious Pankey Institute, and the faculty club at the Spear Education Centre. He maintains active membership in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, and well as local and national dental committees. Recently, he has been giving back to the profession in the way of teaching at the study club level, the university level, as well as national lectures/hands-on workshops.
